Portraits of the Prince of Peace Outdoor Pageant

December 8, 9 and 10, 2017

Time: 7:30pm - 9pm

Admission & Parking:  Free

Location:  Wardlow Road, between Bellflower and San Anseline

Six Long Beach churches located on Wardlow Road will participate in this 47th annual event that features "live portraits" depicting the chronology of the birth of Jesus Christ. The pageant is completely non-profit and presented solely through volunteer effort. It is open to the public.

During this time of year, where everything is "buy this, and buy that" the true meaning of Christmas can get lost very easily. This pageant provides a fun way to celebrate the real meaning of Christmas.

Enjoy the true story with a candlelit outdoor walk. The path goes by different biblical scenes where live actors pose motionless as if in a painting. Some scenes have live animals (sheep, goats, and ponies).

Begin at the corner of Bellflower Boulevard and Wardlow Road near St. Cornelius Church. Here you will see the famous prophesy from Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

Continue on the south side of Wardlow and cross at San Anseline where the Neighborhood Church is located. Return to Wardlow and walk westerly along Wardlow to St. Luke's Church, Calvary Chapel of Long Beach, and the Long Beach Christian Reformed Church. Follow the path to Chatwin, where you will see an angel addressing the shepherds. Then turn right to University Baptist Church and finally to the glorious manger scene where you see baby Jesus.  You are invited to enter any of the churches where you can sit down and reflect, listen to music or just enjoy the evening.

You may enjoy the pageant from your car by driving down Wardlow Road.
