Letter: September 1, 2020

To our St. Luke’s families and friends,

God’s peace and blessings be with you.

The St. Luke’s task force for resuming in-person worship wanted to give the congregation an update on the current plans to keep our church family connected in a safe yet meaningful way. We appreciate all who have responded to the questionnaire regarding in-person worship. We’d still like to hear your thoughts!

We are planning a combined services “Rally Day Garden Service” Sunday, Sept. 13, at 9:00AM in the Memorial Garden. Communion will be celebrated. This “hybrid service” will be similar to the live-streamed service, but broadcast from the Memorial Garden. You will be able to view the service online if you prefer. Physical distancing and safety precautions will be practiced. Bring your lawn chairs!

Be assured that the 11:00 service will resume online Sept 20th.

The task force would also like to know if any of you prefer to receive the Courier newsletter, Sunday bulletins, and other correspondence in paper form by US Postal Service. Please let Laura in the church office know and she will put you on the mailing list. 562-429-5967. We would also like to suggest that those of you worshipping from home stop by the church and borrow a hymnal. The office is open Mon - Thurs, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. You can call to let Laura know when you will be coming, and she can leave it outside the office for pick up. We can arrange delivery, too!

Please pray that the Lord is our Guide as we seek to serve our families, our congregation, and our communities. God is in control, yesterday, today, and forever!
