On May 18, 2003 Pastor Garry Mohr was installed as St. Luke's called pastor.  He came from Mount Calvary Faith Lutheran Church in West Covina, where he served 8 years as senior pastor. Prior to his work there, he served in Hill Avenue Grace Lutheran Church in Pasadena for 13 years as Pastor of Youth, Education, and Family Ministries.

Pastor Garry was born in Burbank and grew up in North Hollywood and was active in his church, Emmanuel Lutheran. While attending California Lutheran College, he worked as a youth director at First Lutheran Church in Camarillo. Upon graduation he entered Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.

He was married to his wife, Bonnie, the following year in 1975. Pastor Garry and Bonnie served an internship year at Bethel Lutheran Church in La Crosse, Wisconsin. It was there that Bonnie's Harp career began.

As a senior in Seminary Pastor Garry had the opportunity to participate in a hands-on class in Archaeology, which took place at Caesarea, Israel. This experience was the beginning of a lifelong interest in Archaeology. Since 1980, Pastor Garry has served as a field supervisor for the excavations conducted by University of Haifa in Israel, University of Maryland, University of Colorado, and most recently Rutgers University. He has carried this interest locally, by serving as President of the Biblical Archaeological Society, L.A. chapter since 1993.

While serving in Pasadena in 1979, Pastor Garry served on the District and Synod Youth Committee. He has also taught classes at Lutheran Bible Institute in Anaheim. He served as a resource training person for the Contact Crisis telephone ministry in Pasadena.

In 1984 he and Bonnie were trained as leaders for the Stephen Ministry, which is a congregation-based helping ministry for people in crisis.

In 1998, Pastor Garry graduated from Fuller School of Psychology with a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. He is currently working as a licensed marriage family therapist in Whittier.
